" A Greener Future with CDL - How CDL Incorporates Green Technology "
by City Developments Ltd
About the company:
City Development Ltd - As a socially-responsible corporate citizen, CDL views Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as an integral aspect of our business operations.
As Singapore's property pioneer with over 45 years of experience, City
Developments Limited (CDL) has to its name some 22,000 luxurious and quality homes in Singapore and the region. Beyond re-defining
lifestyles through its iconic developments, CDL is committed to contributing to developing lives and communities.
We believe that a successful corporation is not only founded on business and financial achievements, but also by the positive contributions it
can make to society and towards environmental sustainability. This
approach has remained a guiding principle by which we conduct our business and engage our stakeholders and the larger community.
For more than a decade, we have been raising the bar for green buildings in Singapore, taking bold steps towards mitigating the impact of our
operations on the environment, and striving to apply
environmentally-friendly practices throughout all aspects of our business. As part of our continued commitment as a socially responsible developer to create a better living and working environment for all, we
have initiated and supported an extensive range of programmes in aid of charity, the environment, youth development and the arts, through the years.
Since 2002, CDL has been listed in the FTSE4Good Index Series for meeting globally recognised CSR standards. CDL is also a member of the
Singapore Compact and United Nations Global Compact to advance
responsible corporate citizenship.
In 2008, CDL published our inaugural Social and Environmental Report to
share our progress and experience in CSR with our stakeholders and address the social and environmental impacts that are pertinent to our business. This is the first local report to be successfully checked by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
